NEW boys Sholing will start life back in the Sydenhams Wessex League with a Friday night cup tie.
Dave Diaper’s men will host lower division US Portsmouth in the first round of the Wessex League Cup on Friday, August 2.
It was one of three cup ties taking place that evening, with seven more ties – either first or second round ones – scheduled for the following afternoon.
That leaves just five games in the Premier Division on the opening day of the Wessex League season, including Winchester City’s home game with Moneyfields.
The first Tuesday night action of the 2013/14 Wessex League season will see a heavyweight clash between defending champions Blackfield & Langley and Alresford, who were runners-up last term.
