BAFFINS Milton Rovers need just two points from their last three matches to win the Puma Engineering Hampshire League title at the first attempt.
The Portsmouth club opened up a five points lead last night after winning 3-0 at Otterbourne while defending champions Locks Heath were held 2-2 at home by mid-table Aldermaston.
Mike Mallory and Ian Neil put Baffins in control with goals inside the first 17 minutes, with Blu Boam completing victory in the second half from the penalty spot.
Jordan Neal put Locks ahead in the fifth minute against Aldermaston.
But the 2012/13 champions needed his 60th minute leveller to earn a point after Matt Wilkins had struck twice for the visitors.
Baffins will clinch the title if they beat visiting Winchester Castle this Saturday.
Clanfield scored four times in the second half to win 5-1 at Fleetlands.
Elliot Sills’ 14th minute opener was cancelled out before half-time by Barry Snelling.
But Sills, Ollie Amos, Richard MacDonnell and Harry Potter gave the visitors an eventually comfortable win.
