Sholing manager Dave Diaper knows that Moneyfields will be up for spoiling their party as they look to seal the Sydenhams Premier Division title tonight.
The Boatmen need just two points from their remaining three games to seal the Wessex crown and travel to Moneys (7.45pm kick off) knowing that a win will be enough.
But the Silverlake Arena side are aware that Miles Rutherford’s side will be no pushovers.
“I expect a very tough match against Moneyfields, they’re a good side,” said Diaper.
“In the perfect situation we’ll get it done and dusted but if it doesn’t happen tonight we still have two more games in which we can win the league.
“I’ve got to go with the best team possible there because it’ll be tough.
“If we don’t get a result it’s still in our hands with matches Thursday and Saturday.”
With their league title expected to be merely a formality by many, it is Diaper’s hope that the trophy won’t follow them to Moneyfields in anticipation of a victory.
“That would be completely disrespectful,” said Diaper.
“It would be going about it the completely wrong way; they’re a good team with good management and it would be the wrong way to bring the trophy there.”
Sholing should have a nearly fully fit squad for the clash but are still waiting on news of the fitness of captain Byron Mason, who picked up a hip injury in the 4-0 win against Whitchurch. Goalkeeper Matt Brown could be back after a groin injury, but Lee Webber is on standby.
Winger Marvin McLean is back but Marc Diaper will miss out through work commitments. Sholing beat Moneyfields 3-1 at home back in October with goals from Tyronne Bowers, Lee Wort and Lewis Fennemore.
The FA Vase finalists have two home games left, Christchurch on Thursday and AFC Portschester on Saturday – the latter will be free entry for fans.
