FORMER Eastleigh boss Paul Doswell is still in with a good chance of joining the Spitfires in the Conference Premier next season.
Doswell’s Sutton United drew 1-1 at Dover in the first leg of their Conference South play-off semi final on Wednesday night.
Craig Dundas put the visitors in front after 34 seconds but ex-Eastleigh striker Moses Ademola replied.
Sutton, unbeaten at home since last December and who have won nine of their last 10 home league games, host the Kent club in the second leg tomorrow.
Barring a sensation, Ebbsfleet United await either Sutton or Dover in the play-off final.
They caned long-time league leaders Bromley 4-0 in the first leg of their semi on Wednesday.
Former Eastleigh midfielder Darryl McMahon was among the scorers against a Bromley side who led the Conference South from the beginning of November all the way through to early March.
If Sutton beat Dover, they will host the play-off final.
If Dover win, Ebbsfleet will host it as they finished ahead of Dover in the regular league season.
