NON-LEAGUE: GOSPORT Borough threw the kitchen sink at Boreham Wood in the closing minutes at Privett Park on Saturday, but could not avoid their first defeat of the Conference South season.
Alex Pike’s men fell behind to a 58th-minute Lee Angol goal and tried desperately to salvage the situation.
Andy Forbes headed into the side netting with 15 minutes to go, ex-Saint Tom Dunford hit the woodwork and former Sholing man Mike Carter flashed the ball across the face of goal.
“We’ve more than given Boreham Wood a game,” said Pike in the wake of the 1-0 defeat.
