COLDEN Common staged a stunning late fightback against Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier Leage high-fliers AFC Stoneham.
Stoneham, the only unbeaten side in the section, looked to be closing the gap on leaders Baffins Milton to three points as they led Common 3-1 with only eight minutes left.
But Lewis Bridge fired the hosts back into the contest and Aiden Reed struck a 90th minute leveller.
Earlier, Ollie Dobson had quickly cancelled out Luke Musselwhite’s second minute opener for Stoneham before Ben Clarke and Sam Adams put the visitors in control.
Hamble Club claimed their tenth win in 11 league matches with a 3-0 home success over Clanfield. Liam Crook and Luke Watts both scored soon after the hour mark, with Sam Barton completing victory late on. Tom Richards rescued a point for fourth-placed Otterbourne at home to Stockbridge.
Trailing 3-2, Richards completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute. He had earlier netted in the 23rd and 48th minutes, after Ashley Childs had put Stockbridge ahead with the first of his two goals. Nathan Rae had put the visitors ahead again on 68 minutes.
The Hampshire League’s two top scorers both netted as Baffins Milton won 4-1 at Hedge End Rangers in the second round of the Puma Engineering Senior League Cup.
Blu Boam took his seasonal tally to 16 with a brace while Jason Parrish struck his 22nd goal of a very prolific campaign. Sam Willett also netted with Jack Igglesden providing a late consolation for the hosts.
