JAMIE Musselwhite added another goal to his tally as AFC Portchester made it four wins on the bounce with a 3-0 Sydenhams Premier success at Andover Town on Saturday.
Portchester dominated early on and took the lead when Musselwhite met Craig Hardy’s cross with a trademark header.
Rob Evans joined the aerial assault to double the lead, again from Hardy’s delivery, and Simon Stone completed victory after some superb play by Louie Castles.
Andover threatened to pull one back when Michael Dixon powered through one-on-one, but debutant ’keeper Lloyd Thomas stood strong and made a great save at his near post.
“The return of Jamie Musselwhite has helped us up top and we have started to eradicate mistakes at the back,” said Portchester boss Graham Rix.
Royals’ regular No1 Jon Webb will miss the rest of the season with a medial ligament strain.
“I thought young Lloyd Thomas made a great debut,” said Rix. “It was another good win, not a great performance, but we’re obviously pleased with a clean sheet. It just keeps that little run going, so let’s get ready for Tuesday.”
Portchester, up to eighth, travel to seventh-placed Folland Sports tonight.
Horndean – away to Fareham Town this evening – saw off Christchurch 2-1 at Hurn Bridge.
Jack Lovell’s effort for Priory was eclipsed by Deans’ duo Nathan Paxton and Mark Smith.
