WINCHESTER City have two experienced new signings waiting in the wings.

The ambitious Sydenhams Premier club plan to strengthen at the expense of two of their title rivals, bringing in ex-AFC Totton and Gosport goalkeeper Gareth Barfoot from Blackfield & Langley and highly-rated central defender Scott Sampson from Newport IoW.

"Both players have completed the necessary paperwork. We await confirmation of their transfers from their previous clubs and the Sydenhams Wessex League," said City's director of football Dave Malone.

"These two players are very experienced and highly rated. Along with Charlie Smeeton (recently signed from Newport IoW) they add much-needed depth to our squad."
