Manchester United made a significant statement of intent on Monday as they announced the signings of Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin and Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger, as Louis van Gaal bolstered his midfield.
The double swoop was also boosted by the news that United goalkeeper David de Gea was included in the Old Trafford club's tour of the United States, seemingly ruling out any imminent move to Real Madrid.
