Georgia Hall was crowned Great Britain's first gold medallist in an Olympic golf event for over 100 years as her team signed off a successful Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney with a total of 20 golds.

The south coast 16-year-old won both the individual women's title followed by the team event with compatriots Chloe Williams, Ewan Scott and Bradley Neil.

Current world number four Hall, from Bournemouth, said: ''It feels amazing to have made history. I enjoyed it a lot and it was a great experience for me.

''I cried after the last hole because I was just so happy it was over to be honest. It was a long week and I just wanted to make sure I won so the pressure was there.''

Fresh from pipping China to gold in the team event, the men's gymnastics team of Courtney Tulloch, Dominick Cunningham, Nile Watson and James Hall picked up five more golds in the individual apparatus finals.

Tyesha Mattis won gold in the women's all-round gold ahead of compatriot Teal Grindle, who also won gold on the beam.

But Great Britain's men's hockey team suffered the agony of a 5-4 golden goal defeat to hosts Australia.
