Welshman Jamie Donaldson, who waited 11 years and 255 events for his first European Tour victory at the Irish Open last July, added another today when he won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship by one shot.
Donaldson was five under for the day when he three-putted the last for a bogey six and round of 68.
That left Hampshire's Justin Rose and Dane Thorbjorn Olesen needing to birdie the 567-yard hole to force a play-off, but Olesen missed from 18 feet and Rose lipped out from 12.
Earlier former Ryder Cup star David Howell, one ahead after 10 holes, followed a bogey on the 12th with a nightmare double bogey at the next. He was bunkered and then amazingly four-putted from only four feet.
Southampton's Richard Bland finished tied 48th after a final round 70 (-2).
