Hampshire teenage amateur Jack Singh-Brar has produced the best round of the day in the European Tour’s Russian Open event.
The 16-year-old, who received an invite to the tournament as a result of winning last year’s Faldo Series, carded a sensational six-under-par effort this morning.
That was 11 strokes better than his opening round of 77, moving him to a total of one-under-par and ensuring he will make the cut in his first ever professional event.
No other player in the field has produced a score better than five-under during the first two days at Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club, further underlining the potential of the youngster.
The Brokenhurst Manor ace was level par for his round after his first seven holes today, but rattled off three birdies in a row from the eighth to the tenth.
Singh-Brar then picked up further shots at 12, 14 and 17 to complete his magical day.
He goes into the weekend eight shots behind leader Rikard Karlberg.
