Hampshire teenage amateur Jack Singh-Brar will miss the English Amateur Championship as he was due to fly back from the Russian Open today.
The 16-year-old, who received an invite to the European Tour event as a result of winning last year’s Faldo Series, played all four rounds – carding a sensational six-under-par 66 over the second 18 to ensure he made the cut in his first ever professional event.
The Brokenhurst Manor ace, pictured above, fell away with a third-round 81 but underlined his potential with a six-birdie score of 70 (-2) in the final round to finish in a tie for 60th place.
Stoneham’s European Tour pro Richard Bland missed the cut after rounds of 76 and 74.
Liphook’s Sam Hutsby finished in a tie for 35th in the latest Challenge Tour event, the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge.
He now lies 60th in the order of merit with the top 15 at the of the season guaranteed a European Tour card for 2014.
