Liz Young has made the cut in the Women’s British Open, at St Andrews.
The Brokenhurst Manor player ensured she would be involved in the weekend action on the Old Course, after finishing one-under-par for her first 36 holes.
Unfortunately for Young, though, her second round did not prove anywhere near as fruitful as her first.
Having been tied for the lead at one stage on the opening day, she eventually closed on a score of four-under.
The 30-year-old looked set to improve on that, as she reached five-under at the halfway stage of her second round.
However, Ladies European Tour pro Young struggled on the back nine today, dropping shots at 10, 11, 14 and 16 to fall out of contention for the major championship.
But she can reflect on a good first half of the tournament and will go into the weekend with a solid platform from which to build.
