Richard Bland shot four-under-par in the second round of the BMW Masters to move into the top 25 of the tournament.
The Stoneham pro has now put himself into a good position at the halfway mark of the first event in the European Tour's Final Series.
Bland had opened up with a level-par effort at Lake Malaren Golf Club, in Shanghai, China, before making headway today.
A bogey-free round saw Bland bridie two, three, seven and 13, as he climbed into a tie for 25th place - Nicolas Colsaerts leads on 14-under.
The 41-year-old is currently 68th in the order of merit, and is hoping to break into the top 60 in the next few weeks, in order to earn a spot in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, in Dubai.
After this week's event, Bland will next be in action at the Turkish Airlines Open - the penultimate tournament of the year.
