In the EDF Junior Vase, Trojans take on Chiswick at Stoneham Lane after last week's bruising win over Fareham Heathens.

That win has cost them dearly with skipper and talisman Tim Higham now sidelined through injury.

Chris Boyd takes over as captain but Paul White is out after breaking his ankle.

Trojans bring in wingers Ollie Sander and Nick Bake while Mathews comes in at scrumhalf for the injured Surtees.

Steve Furleylove comes into the engine room for his debut.

Coach Pete Surtees said: "Everyone at the club knows the priority is to win the league so this weekend is about players getting used to the way we play.

"Things are looking good at the moment so hopefully the lads stepping in will play well and give us some headaches for next week's selection."

Alton make several changes, most of them positional or enforced by unavailability, from the side that drew 5-5 with United Services.

Hemel Hempstead are currently sitting on top of Herts/Middlesex 1 having won all six of their games.

The second row will be bolstered by the inclusion of the experienced Kevin Wilson and Birmingham University student Will Ford.

Both are big, ball carrying forwards who should bring an extra edge to Alton's forwards.

In the backs, James O'Connor, 18, will make his first team debut on the wing.

Ben Wallace continues at full back after impressing during Alton's lacklustre display against United Services.

Alton also welcome back strong running prop Stu Bratt after his posting to Iraq and the evergreen David Rowledge.

Club captain Tony Hopkins will also join them on the replacements bench after a long term absence due to a back injury.

Steven Ott will captain the side in Luke Parrott's absence.

Fareham Heathens skipper Ed Monk is looking forward to the cup tie against Old Abbotstonians.

"Our intention is to come out fast, impose ourselves on the game and not allow Abbotstonians to settle," said Monk.

"Now that we are settling as a team there is lots of potential for us to develop further against unknown opposition. We will need to put our best game on show."

l Havant manager Simon Morgan is looking ahead to his side's EFC National Trophy South second round tie with Torquay.

"This is the first of three consecutive home games for us," said Morgan.

"I am determined that it will be a springboard into a good winning sequence that will include tough league fixtures against Westcombe Park and Hertford."
