SOUTHAMPTON Spitfires rugby league team got off to a winning start in their first-ever game - against Kent Ravens.
Spitfires travelled to Dartford for the London League match - and won it 56-16.
At first the journey seemed to be taking its toll on Spitfires as Kent struck first, their winger cutting inside to break the defensive line and outpace the full back to score a try under the posts which was easily converted.
But Southampton found their form as the forwards led the way, making great yardage in the middle of the field.
