Tottonians' late surge in the dying moments, bringing an unusual try by full-back John Brookstein, proved in vain in a 17-15 London 3 South-West defeat.
London Cornish were by far the better team on the day up front and their backs and back row kept Totts' sprightly backline at bay.
Line-outs early in the game were a lottery for both teams with jumpers on both teams not getting the service they needed.
For Totts, this continued throughout and the lessons of last week's trial were not heeded and, with their backline starved of good clean ball, the game never really got going for the Water Lane men.
