Sailing quintet head for France
HAMPSHIRE'S up and coming sailing stars have headed back to France in preparation for their next test – a 340-mile sprint around the Brittany coastline.
Southampton’s Jack Bouttell, Ed Hill, Sam Matson, Alan Roberts, and Lymington’s Rich Mason will all be on the startline for the Solo Corneceau today.
The race is a last chance to test their skills ahead of the season finale – the 2,000-mile Solitaire du Figaro – which starts on June 8.
The quintet are part of the Cowes-based Artemis Offshore Academy, the UK’s first and only training school for offshore sailors.
