HAMPSHIRE yachtsman Nick Houchin has passed the quarter way point on a groundbreaking voyage around the world in 80 days.
The 24-year-old Solent University graduate, pictured, and the crew of Oman Sail’s 75ft trimaran Musandam have sucessfully rounded Cape Leeuwin, the most south-westerly point in Australia.
The challenge is one of the projects launched by Oman Sail, a multi-million-pound scheme to promote sailing in the region.
At the time of going to press Musandam was 400 miles ahead of the 80-day virtual pace boat.
