Exhibitors and visitors to the 2007 Southampton Boat Show are being kept up to date with the weather forecast for each day, courtesy of a leading marine equipment supplier McMurdo.

Best known for their EPIRBs, PLBs, NAVTEX and other safety communications equipment, McMurdo are also the UK's sole distributor of Davis weather instruments, which are used for a huge variety of purposes, from airports to farms, and individuals who record and log their weather readings to the internet, via Davis's software programmes.

The station in action at the Southampton Boat Show is the Wireless Davis Vantage Pro2 (Plus) Weather System, a fully featured Weather Station that comprises wind reading equipment and sensors, plus a console display unit to show a broad range of weather data.

Not only does the VP2 provide a 3-day predictive forecast but it also reports and records temperature and humidity, as well as barometric pressure, rainfall, and both Solar and Ultra Violet radiation.

The "Voice of the Boat Show" will give out regular announcements at Mayflower Park, the site of the show, throughout each day. The VP2 receiving console is sitting right outside the announcer's station, where he receives all the information on the display.

To learn more about the Davis weather instruments and other products from McMurdo, visit us on stand G119, where we will be demonstrating the VP2's multiple capabilities by displaying the current readings from the Boat Show station on a satellite screen using Davis' advanced WeatherLink Software packages.
