COWES is once again throwing its support behind the charity dedicated to saving lives at sea.
For the second year running the RNLI is the official charity of the world’s largest regatta.
Once again the charity will be providing fun and games to raise vital funds, with the popular Get Your Kit On challenge making a return today and tomorrow.
Members of the public will have the chance to battle it out to don the RNLI’s full gear at the Crew Ball at the Royal Yacht Haven, 8pm tonight and along Cowes Parade tomorrow from 6pm The RNLI provides a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales.
All this week Rachel Dean and an army of volunteers will be out on the Cowes Parade drumming up support among the thousands of visitors expected to experience the sailing extravaganza.
