WHAT a ridiculous idea of cutting completely most bus services after 8pm. Most people are struggling enough at the moment and cannot afford taxis.
Has the council thought about people visiting relations in Southampton’s hospitals in the west of the city and having to return home to the east of Southampton?
It’s a very long walk.
Also the elderly who still like to have a social life and are not fit enough to walk to the city boundaries, Southampton will become a muggers paradise!
Why can’t they cut services to one an hour, also save money during the day by only one bus every ten minutes on the number 3 route instead of between three and five buses all arriving at the same time.
There are many senior citizens using the buses who still enjoy a social life who do not want to be confined to an armchair watching TV for the rest of their lives.
MARGARET, Southampton.
