I FOUND the reports of the problems with snow in January and February 1963 very interesting.
At that time I was stationed at RAF Leuchars in Fife and we were living in St Andrews.
By some freak of the weather, other than a short flurry of snow on I think it was New Year’s Eve, the bad weather bypassed this small area of Britain.
Go three miles inland and the conditions were just the same as the rest of the country.
