I SEE yet more shops are closing. Is it any wonder – it’s so expensive to park in central Southampton.
At the Triangle, where there are few shops and mainly now cafes and restaurants, we see the warden walking around every day issuing tickets as there is only 30 minutes’ parking.
Who can eat a meal and perhaps do some shopping in that time? Are they wanting to close the Triangle, knock it down and build flats, which is a strong rumour doing the rounds currently?
Getting back to central Southampton, I rarely shop there because I go to the out of town superstores, where I know some people go for breakfast, shop, have lunch, shop, and then go home warm and not pay parking fees.
