I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with Teresa Ross regarding the high parking charges in Eastleigh (Daily Echo, January 17).
I used to love shopping there and looking round the many charity shops and market before having lunch at The Chamberlayne Arms or The Litten Tree.
However since the cinema complex opened and the charge went up from 80p per hour to £1.10, I haven’t been on principle.
There isn’t even a reduction on multiple hours as is often the case, as it works out more per hour than if paid for singly.
I wrote to the council department responsible for parking, to no avail.
So how about taking up Mrs Ross’ challenge EBC by reducing charges?
