IT was marvellous to see that the results of Professor Christian Offensmeier’s work at the University of Southampton Leukaemia Research have been reported in the Daily Echo (January 5).
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is currently investing over £5.5m in funding four major projects based at Southampton University and Southampton General Hospital, and is regarded by many research institutions as a centre of excellence.
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research fund research in over 50 top universities and hospitals and are committed to an ongoing research budget of £20m a year.
It also allocates clinical grants to help develop the careers of young doctors and researchers and provides a free information service to patients, relatives and nurses.
All money goes to a central committee at head office at Great Ormond Street, London, where money is allocated to projects.
Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is devoted to funding medical research into leukaemia and lymphoma and related disorders to try and find out the causes, improve treatment and find a cure for these diseases.
