NICK Girdler was "eased out" in January. Now Peter White, Chris Walker, Pippa Greenwood and now Richard Cartridge. Too old? Who is next for the chop?
Is Miss Costello trying to kill off Radio Solent completely? "I don't want to hear really elderly voices."
How dare she make such statements? Daytime radio is listened to by the older generation, kids are at school and most middle-aged people are at work.
Every radio in our house and car is tuned into Radio Solent and has been for 30 years, but it is quite easy to switch off completely, which is exactly what I will do very soon.
I am, of course, one of the people that Miss Costello is really getting at; I am 71 years young.
OK there are a lot of changes going on, there will also be a lot of changes in houses across the Solent region.
It is a big switch-off.
