I CAN only endorse the widespread criticism of Radio Solent's new policy as outlined by Mia Costello.
I have resorted to using the station mainly for the local news and sports bulletins.
As noted by other correspondents the Julian Clegg Breakfast Show is obsessed by TV programmes often of commercial origin.
I am a avid listener to the radio and now find Classic FM, Wiltshire Radio and Radio Wales much more interesting.
In my opinion Peter White, Dennis Skillicorn, Chris Walker and Richard Cartridge were in a different class to the majority of the presenters currently employed.
In closing, has Mia Costello ever heard of one of Southampton's most talented sons Billy Reid? If you want to hear any of his famous songs I suggest you tune to the aforementioned Wiltshire Radio or Radio Wales.
I think Radio Solent will have to drop the slogan the South's most popular station' how about renaming it Radio Silent?
