I WAS dubbed "King of the Phone-ins" by a BBC broadcaster many years ago. (Done about 5,500 in 25 years).
Surprise, surprise: I also do press letters.
So the BBC Radio Solent, Mia Costello story; was of great interest to me.
Apparently Radio Solent would prefer phone-in "callers" to sound "under 64".
I am told I can sound under 40 on radio; and even younger than that on occasions.
One can tell from great singers, that the voice sometimes sounds good when other faculties have failed.
So give this humble, slightly older "caller" a break Mia Costello.
