I BELIEVE that global warming is essentially a natural occurrence and is only being exacerbated by man's activities. Many years ago scientists reckoned that the Gulf Stream was shifting and that by the turn of the century climate change would cause the Thames to freeze over and allow skating once more. Has this occurred? No! They were wrong.

Nature is far more powerful than man, as the recent tsunami has shown and therefore man's influence on global warming is minimal. Natural global warming has occurred before. We are told that we in this country are contributing only two percent of the total.

The rest is attributable to countries like China, the USA and the Indian sub-continent who are doing little or nothing to reduce their CO2 emmissions whilst this country has to pay dearly.

The government seem to demonize CO2 emissions yet every living thing relies on it due to the process of photosynthesis.

Most photographs of coal burning power stations show plumes of water vapour hanging over cooling towers which do not contribute to CO2 emissions. Finally much of this is propaganda aimed at reducing our reliance on imported energy.
