AS a working mother of two children, I would really like to see more childcare provision available to children of working parents. Schoolteachers have over two months of paid holidays every year, while I am entitled to only four weeks leave.

What arrangements are in place for the children for the remainder of these holidays? Very little at present.

I see so much press about youngster's behaviour and their parent's ability to cope with them.

Why isn't more on offer to young families?

Why are there not more schemes in place to educate, entertain and occupy our youngster's minds?

They need to channel all the wonderful energy that they have. Not all families have a willing grandma or Mary Poppins available to help out at times like this.

Is it just me that feels that the local community and teaching staff could provide a more full time service to our children when it is desperately needed?

Do Hampshire county council have any schemes to be introduced to help working families with out of school childcare provisions?
