MAY I make a comment on the declining audience for Radio Solent. I have been a listener for approximately 20 plus years.
Sandy Jones used to read tidetables and liner movements out. I'm not sure if they do that any more. Generally no mistakes.
Richard Cartridge - A smashing voice for the radio.
Dennis Skillicorn - Always caught his Saturday nautical five or ten minutes - very interesting - nice chap, seen him in Cowes often.
There was a chap who did the things going on in the sky - space lab that sort of thing. No more!
Hugh Asley - interesting religious programme.
Norman Goodland countryside matters - passed away now but could repeat programmes - very interesting.
Mike Powell sometimes news is out of date and sometimes missing in bits.
Understand as time goes by people leave etc and things are in a state of movement.
Most people I believe like the older presenters.
