THE subject of a vote on same-sex marriages is now on the cards.
Not being familiar with legislation on the subject, as I suspect many of us are not, I wonder how employers who support pension schemes work out that employees in a same sex-relationship are entitled to a proportional share on the demise of one of the partners.
How do you apportion a share unless there is a marriage contract? I believe this is only one of the problems to be covered in law.
I believe that this is not only a matter for the Govern-ment but for the clergy.
Any such legislation should not enforce any priest or even registrar to conduct a service against his will; it should be a matter for the conscience.
Does a Christian adhere to the Bible and its meaning? Or does a Christian adopt a Christian-like attitude towards the general trend?
Apparently it’s a matter for the MPs to vote on, but for a £30,000 increase I’d vote for anything.
