I HAVE read with interest the correspondence about the possible wind turbine site at Bullington Cross.
My wife and I have for many years enjoyed going to stay in the tranquil and beautiful environment of our small stone cottage in the lovely rolling hills of central Brittany.
We were a little apprehensive a few years ago when they started building huge wind turbine farms near our house there.
Now we can see at least six such installations from our village. We still enjoy going to the cottage and one of the things we really look forward to is the now-familiar sight of ‘our’ wind turbines looming over the horizon as we get close to our second home. They have a majestic, other-worldly beauty which enhances the landscape and adds interest to the surroundings. As for noise, we have stood directly under one of them in quite a strong breeze and we could hardly hear the gentle swooshing sound of the rotating blades.
So if some of your readers live near Bullington Cross, I suggest they recognise that a well designed wind turbine farm may improve their local environment!
