LASHING out at UKIP, D R Smith clearly cannot wait for the final meltdown of whatever sovereignty Britain has left, stating that, as “immigration...will almost certainly increase, we had better get used to it”. What defeatist nonsense.
As someone who voted Labour for decades before switching permanently to UKIP, it amuses me to see Mr/Ms Smith describe the party as “extreme right”!
What is right wing about wanting to regain control of our borders, our democratic legislative process, and making our own global trade deals?
D R Smith clings to the mythical notion that “millions of British jobs” depend on membership of the European Union, when we import far more than we export to it.
The boot is on the other foot. British exports to the stagnant EU fell by 1.5 per cent in the last year, but increased to the US by 7 per cent, and to China by 11 per cent! The reality is that Britain's trading future lies outside the declining Brussels empire.
