I HAVE received my copy of Eastleigh News, the regular periodical from the Council.
In reporting to us the update on the Rosebowl development we are notified that “it is hoped to create 100 new jobs”.
During the recent local election campaign we were repeatedly told that 500 new jobs would be created.
Could the council leader explain this sudden revision of figures and can we look forward to an honest estimate of the financial advantages to the local economy rather than the ludicrous £55m annually that has been regularly quoted?
Or will the deafening silence continue?
TERRY BUTLER, West End.
