HOW sad it is that all you hear now is Facebook, Dot Com, computers etc, and not many people seem to be writing letters.
Therefore, in their later years, what memories will they have?
It’s these letters that bring back such happy memories.
I, at 87, am still in regular contact with three school friends and two of the children I was nursemaid to for six years, and it’s so nice to hear how successful they have been.
One of my recent letters was from a girl from Wakefield who used to come to stay on holiday with her grandparents in Yorkshire.
We looked forward to these holidays and made a pact that we would stay friends all our life. We also promised to end our letters with following: It’s hard to think, though far apart in spite of wintry storms, remembrance links us hand in hand and keeps our friendship warm.
Receiving her letter this week makes me so happy and reminds you of your childhood.
Facebook, computers etc won’t hold these memories.
