I READ the sad news that Southampton was not successful in getting through to become the City of Culture.

I think everyone involved in the bid should be congratulated for the sterling job they did in the first place.

The hard work and effort put in need to be recognised.

Will there be another time?

We can only hope and pray.

Well done Southampton for trying.
