FANCY Edward Snowden going to China, where many believe most of the world’s computer hacking originates through their Government, to complain of anti-terrorism hacking by the US government.
It was no surprise to me that the Chinese found an excuse to allow Snowden to fly to Russia to eventually hide elsewhere, probably Ecuador or Cuba.
In view of recent world events it would be unbelievable now if the US did not impose a no-fly zone over Syria as a quid pro quo to Syria’s main allies, Russia and China.
It would also make sense if the actions taken by Ecuador against our democratic legal system resulted in our Government breaking off diplomatic ties with what is obviously an enemy state.
This of course will leave Julian Assange having to face the serious sexual charge in Sweden that he has shown himself so keen to avoid.
Unfortunately I do not expect either the US President or our Prime Minister to take these actions. They are both quite good at disingenuously promising action to achieve what is needed, but both seem to lack the quality to act like real men.
This will not have been overlooked by the leaders of despotic regimes.
