MAY I correct Richard Grant (In My View, June 21)?
UKIP was not ‘set up’ by one man but by many people who were sick of the failed policies and broken promises of the three main parties.
These people were searching for an alternative that was going to put Britain back on track.
As to the claim that UKIP is extremist, racist and incompetent, I would ask Mr Grant what patch of sand has he had his head buried in?
The people are making the decisions, Mr Grant, and I find it hard to believe 30,000 of them are wrong! Or is it that like all the other parties you are arrogant enough to think they don’t count?
Once again you allude to the EU ‘needing to be better organized and Britain must be at the centre’, to which I would remind you again that Britain has been at the centre since the day we were taken in on a lie by the Conservatives, since when the situation has become even more intolerable.
The finances are in chaos, and their only answer seems to be to make the man on the street pay for all their mistakes.
All these things have escalated out of control without the input of one UKIP MP being in Parliament. You are right in one thing. Yes, readers must take this EU seriously, seriously enough to stop the erosion of our country, our children’s future, and the demise of a free and democratic Britain.
I would advise you to read the small print in the EU constitution and make yourself aware of the true cost of this undemocratic union for the future of Britain.
Yes we have very little left here in Britain. Just look in our own area – Ford, Kipling, post offices, Twinings teas, etc. These companies were not driven out, they were sold off to Turkey and India by our weak Government bending over backwards to every EU diktat. and we are left with towns full of empty shops boarded up with gaudy cheap posters alongside charity shops and moneylenders.
However, Mr Grant, unlike you I believe Britain will remain great while 30,000 people and counting every day are stepping up to the challenge and joining UKIP to say enough is enough.
MOLLY BENNETT, Bursledon.
