JOE Cox of the Green Party (Letters, June 18) gloats that scientific evidence of global warming is accumulating.
No doubt scientists worldwide are busy beavering away at more evidence for global warming – they have to sing for their supper.
Governments fund climatology departments in their universities, and from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC) downwards, they have declared their belief in global warming.
Indeed, when introducing the Climate Change Act of 2008 in the House of Commons, Ed Miliband declared that the science of global warming “was settled”.
Climatologists in universities know that if they challenge belief in global warming – especially in anthropogenic “manmade”
climate change – then funds for their research will dry up, and their careers will be ruined.
Freedom of research in climate science has been crushed by political power.
