WOULD like to warn your readers about an insurance scam I think is going on by a lady driving a white 4x4.
A few months ago I was at the road junction by dock gate 4.
You have got to have your wits about you as it’s a busy junction. You have to look to your right and when safe to go, you go – you cannot stop as there are yellow boxes just past the junction.
On this morning I was behind the lady in her white 4x4. She looked to the right and so did I, and we both went as it was safe to do so, but for some reason she then stopped in the yellow boxes, which you are not susposed to do. Well, I had no time to stop and went in the back of her.
I was only doing about five miles per hour but as you know, new cars are made now just to crumble which mine did, but there was not a mark on her car.
I just put it down to bad luck, even though she should not have stopped where she did it was still my fault, as I went into the back of her .
What has got me annoyed is she then claimed for damage to her car when there was none, and also whiplash to her neck and back, which no way she could have had at the speed I was going.
I told my insurance company this, and the police, but they say it’s just the sign of the times we live in, and it’s cheaper in the long run just to pay out.
So, Echo readers, please be aware of this kind of con.
