WAS anyone really surprised that damage was caused to some of the rhino sculptures in Southampton city centre?
Every year, efforts to make the city a more pleasant place to live, are undone by mindless morons, who have nothing better to do than wreck things, be it a bus shelter, young trees, garden areas, children’s playgrounds, park benches... I could go on!
It is a great pity that some people behave in this way, and wherever we live, we have seen the results.
But I sincerely hope however that this current spate of vandalism doesn’t deter others from mounting similar exhibits in the future, as they do bring a smile to people’s faces, and goodness knows, we certainly need more of that!
