THIS month the Marriage (Same-Sex Couples) Act became law. This was a great day for equality and a move supported by the overwhelming majority of the public.
I was deeply disappointed to see our Conservative MP on the wrong side of history and voting against the bill. I would like to know why he thinks his relationship is different to mine and those of the many others who love someone of the same sex here in his constituency and elsewhere.
The passing of the bill was a great step for Britain and I am pleased the Lib Dems in government drove this step for a fairer society. I hope come 2015 we will choose an MP in the centreground who respects their constituents instead of one who panders to the right.
ROBIN REA, Winchester.
