For the last 10 years I have been trying to find out as much as possible about my uncle who fought in the 8th Battalion of the East Lancashire Regiment during the Great War.
This units was billeted in Pokesdown, Bournemouth from November 1914 to March 1915 I would be grateful to hear from anyone who knows that their relative fought with this unit during 1914-18 with a view to discovering more about the exploits of this relatively unknown regiment, a number of whom were from the Bournemouth area. Also any local historians who may have information.
