I WAS very interested to read Rebecca Pearson’s article on Mottisfont Abbey.

I was however somewhat surprised to read that the Abbey was established in 1201 BC. This would mean that an Abbey was established 1,201 years before Christ was even born!

I imagine this was a genuine mistake but it was then repeated in the FactFile! Not quite a true fact, is it?
