A LONG letter from James Wyatt, July 30 needs to be addressed. He is obviously a supporter of Nigel Farage and UKIP.

He refers to democracy. I remind him that we elected to join the Common Market.

Winston Churchill, one time Liberal, wanted peace and cooperation throughout Europe, whilst UKIP want to run away from that achievement.

We do elect representatives James, that is why we have MEPs and appoint Commissions.

Edward Heath when interviewed, after he retired was asked, if he now was starting out into politics, which Party would he join, he replied, the Liberal Democrats.

Mr Farage’s surname is thought to be French and his wife is German. James refers to the EU as being crooks, and yet we helped form the Union therefore he has to be implying, we are crooks!

He claims, we are to cover this country in concrete to accommodate foreigners.

Planning matters are a domestic issue, and we are to have better border controls. Plus millions of Brits live abroad. He moans that utility companies are foreign owned. What does he want, state controlled bankrupt British firms running them? And don’t forget British firms do invest abroad.

He refers to thousands of graves all over the world of those fighting for democracy. Exactly James, we have democracy and you don’t like it.

And let’s not forget, we declared war against Germany twice, when we here were not under attack – to protect our European cousins, of which the Royal Family belong. The British Empire was built upon us murdering thousands upon thousands of native people in their own lands.

Then we were held responsible for our actions and that is one reason we originally had immigrants back here in the UK.

He says we once had a fair society. When was that James?

Do you mean the elitist Tories against the poor working class?

James, please do note we are NOT governed by Brussels or unelected bureaucrats.

If we were, then we could scrap our UK Government and save a fortune. After all, we have always been Europeans.

This coalition, led by David Cameron and Nick Clegg, have the right ideas and to continue negotiations of the terms of policy.

The majority of Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats want us to remain within the EU.

Their MPs are elected. As yet, there is not one UKIP MP.
