I HAVE no sympathy with Saddam Hussein or anything he stood for but I thought his execution was more like a lynching.
The USA and the UK are in Iraq to supposedly bring a new order and modern systems of government to that beleaguered country, anyone who saw the disgraceful scenes of mob rule when Saddam died, can only think that whatever we have done there, is waste of time.
Saddam showed no mercy on anyone who opposed him and murdered them indiscriminately but that is the precise reason that when he died, civilised people should have allowed him the dignity of someone who was going to meet their end.
His followers are justified in saying that Iraq is no better under the present government than under Hussein.
Iraq was supposedly the cradle of civilisation. I would say more like the deathbed than cradle now.
