READING the article (Daily Echo, April 1) about the new container berth, a few words jumped out of the page, “ongoing dredging”.

Is this the mysterious noise that is causing distress and sleepless nights to local residents?

A little research on the Internet showed that there was dredging taking place a lot of the time.

Have the environmental health officers of Southampton City Council and New Forest District Council investigated this?

Apparently dredging has been taking place constantly 24/7 for the last few months.
